2017 THE THING

5 Stars - Huon Hooke

Deep ruby colour with a good tint of purple in the rim, while the bouquet is rich and chocolaty with mocha and cocoa powder details, blackberry underlying it all, the palate sumptuously rich and fleshy, with gorgeous texture and slinky tannins, the core of lush fruit sweetness countered effortlessly by the caress of savoury drying tannins. Oak and alcohol are both generous but not unbalanced. An outstanding example of the conjunction of style, region and grape. (40 months in French oak hogsheads). NOV 2021

2017 THE THING

5 Stars - Stuart Knox

Ink black core with a deep brick-red rim. A nose of cedar shavings and raspberry conserve. Rich and dense fruit, a little overcooked on the fruit spectrum. Big oak spices and blocky tannins dominate. MAR 2021

2017 THE REVEREND CANON CABERNET SAUVIGNON SHIRAZ

93 Points

Deep red colour with a touch of purple in the rim and a note of peppermint on the nose, together with crushed-leaf and red fruits, raspberry and well-oiled cricket bat. A robust, chunky style of cabernet without a great lot of varietal character. I can smell cork, but it hasn't damaged the wine. A massive wine that needs and deserves cellaring. 23 MAR 2021

2018 JELLICOE BAROSSA GSM

92 Points

Medium to deep ruby-red colour in the glass. The nose showing crushed forest berries, thyme and ironstone aromatics. Medium-bodied, with supple dark fruits and some spice notes flowing across the palate. There's a weight of tannins giving focus and it flows quite long into a well layered drying finish. Still quite youthful and will benefit from judicious decanting prior. 13 FEB 2021

2020 JAZZ ROSÉ PINOT NOIR

87 Points - Huon Hooke

Light pink colour, the bouquet is shy but pleasant with a smoky strawberry note, clean and fresh. Light, rather weak flavour, finishing a tad short but clean and dry and appetising. Very quaffable and quite moreish. 02 AUG 2020

2020 JELLICOE RIESLING

89 Points - Stuart Knox

Pale lemon-yellow colour in the glass. Lime juice and ocean succulents give a seaside impression aromatically. The palate shows riper fruits, green papaya, feijoa and lime wash through the mid-palate and roll quite long. There's a good balance of acid to texture giving length 23 AUG 2020

2020 Margaret Pinot Gris

87 Points - Stuart Knox

Lemon and lime hues. Apple turnover aromatics. The palate weight matches the choice of pinot gris labelling. Textured and well-weighted. There's bruised pears and pastry characters with a line of acid crunch giving presence and focus. Decent length
